My first job was in a five and dime store called NEISNER'S.

This store was located in Rochester, New York.

Neisner's sold a little bit of everything. As I reminiscence, I begin to realize how much I have missed the days of yonder.

Life was so simple; I am compelled to declare, without hesitation that those really were..."THE GOOD OLD DAY!"

I admit that there was a lot of (Civil Unrest) during those very trying times; However, when I stepped into Neisner's, there was a tendency to leave all of the bad things outside. Once I entered Neisner's, I became color blind. This was a store where everyone knew your name....where you could share thoughts and feelings, smile... and we actually team worked with pleasure. Try to imagine that....if you can.

In the sixties $5.00 was a lot of money. One could buy a lot with that kind of cash. Speaking of cash, I cannot remember anyone paying for anything with a credit card. Oh, guess what? All employees were paid in cash. My starting salary was $.93 cents an hour, 8 hours a day, 6 days a week. I was given a $.13 cents raise after 6 months on the job. WOW! $1.06 cents an hour....Imagine that!

Many thanks for selecting this topic.

My walk down memory lane gave me such joy!

It actually brought tears to my eyes....and "Goose Bumps" everywhere!
