DO NOT LOOK DOWN! LOOK UP!
Storms of life will always rage, but we must remember.... no matter how hard storms rage, it is vital that we do not yield to raging storms. We must remain steadfast in our belief that the sun will always rise again.
The SON of GOD ordained it so.
I believe that God's peace which surpasses all understanding will guide our minds and hearts away from disillusion and bitterness as a result of circumstances that are beyond our control.
I agree! We can do all the right things and make all the right sacrifices in an effort to succeed in life. Yet life keeps throwing fiery darts at us.
We become educated, secure good jobs, work hard and raise beautiful families. Then one day, usually without prior warning, the storms of life will blow into our lives and turn them up side down.
Difficulties become overwhelming as questions invade our hearts and minds. Uncertainties test our perseverance. We cannot see a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. We finds ourselves in situations where darkness deepens and we do not know where to turn.
When believers respond negatively to the storms of life, our faith is tested and this response reflects a weakness in our faith. When we cling tenaciously to God, we will not give up nor give in to life's storms. We will survive by the strength and power of His might.
The years, 2010 and 2011 brought to many of us circumstances that had life-changing consequences. Everytime we took one step forward the storms of life would hit us again and throw us for a loop. It is vital that we get back up! We must keep getting back up, no matter how many times we are knocked down!
We are so tired of fighting; We are exhausted! Yet, we must convince the storms of life that we are "Still Standing."
Life will continue to knock us down. we must bounce right back up If we are to win this test of our endurance. We must keep fighting!
The only way to diffuse this storm and come out of it victoriously is to recruit God to join the fight. When the storm starts raging after God is on our side, we will be able to face the storms head on. We will feel the presence of God battling right beside us.
When we began to realize that we are not alone, we will be compelled to keep on, keeping on! We will realize that we cannot stop fighting the raging storms of life until the battle is over and we have become conquerors.
When we are still standing, while refusing to fall, we will be able to focus on building new futures that can be more productive than the ones we lost during a time when the storms raged out of control and crippled our lives.
2012 is just hours away. We will have another chance to restart our engines as we head into the future with a great multitude of unknowns; but many great expectations. It is time to say goodbye to past mistakes, failures, disappointments and missed opportunities.
The good news is that we are still standing! We did not allow the storms of life to cripple us! We got back up, shook off the storm and started all over again.
We are can do people, who know without a doubt that We are still standing tall in face of adversity because we have a God who loves and cares for us. "We can do all things through God Who gives us strength.
I wish you all. "A very "Happy and Blessed New Year!"

More commentsHi Jena, this is a very inspirational article and I appreaciate your sharing it with us.
Faith in God should be our number 1 priority in life! But, if you ask for more faith be ready to be tested. I would rather be tested the be just treading water so to speak. Our first response to anything the comes at us in life should be to seek GOD. Many, including me, use learned responses the situations. For example, when sick we take medicine or run to the doctor first. Seeking GOD should be first and then, if necessary, other help as needed.
Thanks for your thoughts Jena. You have a very strong belief which comes through as an inspiration in your article.
An uplifting, inspirational piece of work- Keep- on keeping- on!Yours Truly- Ella

The power of positive thinking can hep us overcome all obstacles and accomplish anything we choose.
Jena,I couldn't put it in a better words myself, thank you so much, the counsel, it's been taken, I am one of the one that got cought in the terrible storm of 2009. Still standing not out of it yet. But I do thrust the Lord Jesus christ to help me and my family.Aim high always!!!
Well, the year 2010 is here, and many are, indeed, feeling discouraged by the economy, loss of jobs, and daily stress. Prayer and meditation are scientifically proven ways of reducing stress. Just as we are responsible for our actions, we are responsible for our thoughts, and negative, self-defeating thoughts tend to yield negative results. But positive thoughts, whether through prayer or even to ourselves, allow us to be open to the positive possibilities Life and God offer.
I truly enjoyed reading this article. Very encouraging.
