Acupressure is simple to perform, requiring gentle pressure with fingers and thumb.

General tension and stress inhibits blood flow to your head causing headaches, eye strain, poor concentration, hair loss, depression and many other symptoms of stress. A head massage is a great way to get immediate relief and reduce stress levels. This is a very simple solution that can be done at home, or at work and you do not need a lot of messy oils. All that is needed is a comfortable place to lie or sit and the healing power of your fingers. Gentle pressure to various points of the head is the key to a speedy recovery from symptoms that lead to high levels of stress.

A head massage is quick and gives almost immediate results. It will unlock tension, reduce stress and give new vitality. Your eyes will relax and look brighter. Massaging your head will also release tension from your scalp causing your hair to relax. The good news is that this process can be completed in about ten minutes. There are seven simple steps:

1. Massaging the scalp similar to shampooing by using the pads of your fingers in firm, circular movements can be very relaxing. 2. Grip large sections of hair in your fist and, keeping your knuckles in contact with your scalp, gently tug on the hair and release. Repeat this process all over the entire scalp. 3. Use the pads of your thumbs, steadying the head with your fingers, press and release gently up over the forehead, moving up over the scalp. 4. Use the thumb to stroke across the forehead, out from the center. Use your fingers to locate the dimples at the back of the ear and apply pressure for a few seconds. Repeat this process three times. 5. Lifting slightly, gently and slowly roll the head towards one shoulder, hold for one second and release. Repeat process towards the other shoulder. 6. From a reclining position; Cup both hands under the neck, gently lift the head and hold the stretch for a couple of seconds. 7. To finish, apply gentle but firm pressure on the occipital hollows at the base of the skull as in step (4) using your fingers.

****RESULTS OF STRESS****

Sinus congestion: Pressure points are located at the inner end of the eyebrow, directly above the corner of the eye. Step (4) can be effective in this situation.

Nasal congestion : Press the dimples beside the nose, one finger width away from each nostril. Step (7) can be effective in this process.

Temple headaches : Just press in the hollow of the temples, a finger width beyond the outer end of the eyebrow. Step five can be very helpful in this procedure.

Eye Pain: Press in the hollow on top of the eyebrows, one fingers width above the pupil of the eye using step (3). Now you can take charge of your stress! Alleviate it!
